Spice Girls MP3 Music Downloads - Part2

Napster, now defunct, was a free program which let its registered users access and download the Spice Girls MP3 music tracks, and share them as free peer-to-peer files. Once the word was out, Napster received record traffic.

The Forever album was the Spice Girl’s first in three years, and its release was intended to take advantage of holiday sales.

But having all the tracks from the album available for free on Napster as Spice Girls MP3 music files a month before Christmas certainly damaged the legitimate sales for the album, which sold nowhere near as many copies as their first two albums, Spice and Spiceworld.

Napster was believed to have more than 20,000,000 million users at the time, so the actual damage it caused to the album’s sales is hard to underestimate.

Virgin Records, as a member of the Recoding Industry Association of America, eventually sued Napster for copyright infringement on behalf of the Spice Girls and its other recording artists.

Although Napster lost the suit and is now history, the peer-to-peer MP3 file sharing tradition it began has been continued under P2P protocols like FastTrack. But they are also facing legal challenges, and the record companies are as interested in prosecuting the individuals who are downloading MP3 files illegally as they are in going after the websites which permit it.

Whether you’re a hard-core Spice Girls fan or someone who is just starting to learn about the Spice Girls phenomenon and will see them for the first time on their Return of the Spice Girls Tour, you should forget about trying to find free downloads of Spice Girls MP3 music. Stick to getting it from legitimate online music stores.

It’s better for you, because you won’t get sued, and it’s certainly better for the Spice Girls!
